Google is preparing to launch the third generation Pixel smartphones in October. The leaks so far claim that the devices will be launched at an event in New York on October 9, which will be a departure from October 4 date that Google has used for previous two launches and its home turf of Mountain View as the launch venue.
The search giant is expected to launch Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at the event next month. The two new smartphones are rumored to be accompanied by a wireless charging accessory called the Pixel Stand. One of the report indicated that the Pixel Stand will integrate with Google Assistant and essentially turn the dock into a smart display. Now, the interface powering such a system has been revealed.
The interface will basically be Google Assistant‘s visual snapshot feature but with much larger touch targets, reveals XDA Developers. The report states that the feature does not show personal information like calendar appointments or reminders at this stage. “Your Assistant can use your personal info to make suggestions, answer questions, and take actions for you when your phone is locked and on your Pixel Stand,” reads description on the Google app.
It is clear that Google is still developing the user interface for the Pixel Stand and has a white background that aligns with other recent updates added to all Google apps. The report adds that the interface has temperature indicator at the prominent place followed by a weather icon and current condition.
Below that is an icon that reads “Try Saying” followed by suggestions box featuring rounded corners seen on Google’s Material Theme. There is no visible signs of “Hey Google” or “Ok Google” hot words and it also does not instruct users to tap the Assistant icon at the bottom of the screen when they try it for the first time.

There are various actions like “Make a phone call” and “Set a timer.” The interface also indicates that users will be able to interact with the device using the touchscreen and may not be limited to voice. While most of the icons are generic, the Play Music option uses Spotify’s icon followed by an “Explore what’s new” button below.
The leaks that detail Google’s upcoming Pixel Stand claim that these docks will be codenamed dreamliner docks. The dreamliner docks will not be specific to Google Pixel 3 smartphones and this interface seen on Assistant could be adopted by other OEMs as well.
