A slide from the presentation recently surfaced online, courtesy of Twitter user @elgar, detailing the list of countries the Google Assistant will be expanding to. Some of these countries include Netherlands, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Russia among others. With this gradual expansion, Google Assistant will be available in a total of 52 countries.
As of now, Google Assistant is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, India and Australia, and speaks English, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French. However, there is no timeframe as to when the rollout will begin, and when the support for new languages will start.
With the expansion of Google Assistant and by supporting more languages, the search giant will be hoping to get its Google Home smart speakers in more countries, and thus increase sales too. These devices completely rely on Google Assistant to enable and disable smart appliances, stream content, offer news brief and weather forecasts, order a pizza, book a cab ride and more.
