As part of its visual overhaul spree, Google has updated many of its services and apps over the past few weeks. That process is still going on, with the latest to get a refreshed user interface being Google’s stock Calendar app.
Google has started seeding a new update for its Calendar app on Android. The update bumps the app to v6.0, and introduces the new ‘Material Theme’ design. The new design features the usual ‘Material Theme’ features such as rounded corners and of course, Google Sans font. However, the functionality of the app remains the same. The report says that the updated app is already available via Google Play Store, but we couldn’t verify the same on our end. As always, it’s most likely a phased roll out and thus, the new Google Calendar may take some time to show up for all users.
Recently, Google updated its stock Calculator app with the new ‘Material Theme’ design. The update (v7.5) brings a slightly-tweaked color palette to the lightweight calculation app. The black navigation bar and grey status bar of the previous version now appear white with the new variant. The number pad now has a much-lighter shade of grey than the usual dark one. The slide-in tab now uses a slightly-darker hue of blue, while the ‘History’ section of the app has been tweaked a bit as well.

Some other Google services that have received a visual overhaul over the past few weeks include Google Photos and Chrome web browser, which now sports a refreshed design across all platforms that it’s available on.
