Ever since it was launched Google Chrome has been chipping away on the dominant marketshare of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer which comes pre-loaded with Windows. Chrome’s quest of becoming the world’s most used browser was realized on March 18 2012, albeit for only a day. StatsCounter has issued a graph which extrapolates Chrome’s jump to being the number one browser on the planet for March 18, however then it also noted that Internet Explorer quickly regained reigns of its number one position the next day.
According to the report, Chrome managed to sneak past Internet Explorer with a marketshare of 32.71 percent, while Internet Explorer managed 32.5 percent and Mozilla Firefox finished at 24.81 percent. Minor players like Apple’s Safari and Opera managed 7.13 percent and 1.86 percent respectively.
