Google is reportedly looking to add quick replies feature for its Google Chrome Android app. While the feature is said to be in testing internally, it isn’t yet available in the Canary version of Chrome.
As per XDA-developers, the ‘Quick Reply’ feature in Chrome for Android will allow you to reply to a notification from your status bar, but websites will have to support it first. With this feature, websites will be able to send you a notification with added quick reply support. Which means if there is a website notification that needs a chat support, it will allow you to reply from the notification itself, similar to WhatsApp quick reply option.
Since the option is not yet in testing on Canary version of Chrome, we don’t expect it to release any time soon. The Canary release channel is separate from the stable release, and not all the features in testing gets a final release.
Recently, Google launched updated version of its Material Design language for Google Chrome in the latest version of its Canary release channel. This release channel is meant for people who want to check the latest features from Google before stable release.
