Last night, Google released the final version of Android Nougat 7.0, which can now be installed on select Nexus devices. But when it comes to smartphones running on the latest Android OS out-of-the-box, Google’s upcoming Nexus devices won’t be the first off the starting line. Instead, the LG V20 will be the first smartphone to run on Android Nougat — and yes Google has confirmed this as well. On the Android Nougat official page there is a message towards the bottom that reads — ‘Introducing the new LG V20, the first new smartphone that comes with Android Nougat, right out of the box. While multiple leaks have given us a fair idea on what to expect from the upcoming Nexus smartphones, what we don’t know is when Google plans to launch them. LG, on the other hand, has revealed that it plans to launch the V20 smartphone at a four-day event in San Francisco starting on September 6. LG V20 specifications
As per rumors, the LG V20 will feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) In-Cell display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and it will come in two variants — 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is also expected to feature a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and a 4,000mAh battery.
Besides these, the LG V20 will boast great audio playback thanks to the 32-bit Quad DAC, and a new teaser also claims that the smartphone will offer ‘the best video and audio experience’ on a smartphone. While the rest of the details are scarce, we will know more in just about a fortnight.
