Google has put up a colorful doodle in celebration of the festival of Holi today. The search giant has always surprised us with its own innovative ways of marking a festival or occasion or a special day, and this time it has dedicated a simple yet playful doodle with a spraygun (pitchkari) splashing colors on its homepage in India. Holi is one of the major festivals in India which is celebrated across the country with much gusto, by putting colors on one another. The festival falls on the last full moon day of the lunar month Phalguna, which marks the end of winters according to Indian Calendar.
This is the fourth time that Google has posted a doodle to mark the festival of Holi on its India homepage, and it had earlier as well dedicated Holi doodle in 2001, and later in 2010 and 2011.
