The company says that this will give developers a chance to direct attention towards their apps. “We are always looking for new ways to help you get your apps in front of potential new users,” the company said in a blog post. As a result of this, users will see one sponsored app (or perhaps more than one) while looking for travel, coupons, or any other niche apps. This app will be presented at the top with an “ad” label, followed by regular search results. It’s surprising that the company took so long to start advertising on the Google Play Store. Google promotes others’ products on its search engine, and that’s how it generates most of its revenue. This is a great opportunity for app developers to showcase their apps in front of more than one billion Android users.
