Google has announced that Hangouts users in India can now make voice calls to international phone numbers for free. This feature was first rolled out last week, wherein the first minute of the international call is free, post which users will be charged. As mentioned above, the announcement comes a week after the company rolled out this feature in 25 countries. While the company won t charge you for the first minute of your international call, you will have to pay Google around 60 paisa per minute for every minute after it. For those who are interested in using this feature, they will have to first provide their credit card details to Google. The countries where you can call from the Hangouts app and avail the first minute free call offer includes Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
Google updated its Hangouts app back in September when it added the voice calling feature. It already offers free voice calls within the nation to any user via its Handouts app. The international voice call feature is available for Android and iOS users. Additionally, one can also avail this feature from their computer using Hangouts on Gmail.
