Ever since their launch, Google‘s latest Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have been plagued by several issues. After the Pixel 2 XL’s much talked about screen burn-in issue, Pixel 2 users are now complaining about weird clicking and high-pitched sounds emitting from the devices. Google has however taken note, and issued a temporary fix for it.
Google Pixel 2 users say that they are hearing clicking and high-pitch frequency sounds during voice calls. The phone is reportedly emitting high-frequency clicking sounds from the speaker. The issue did not go unnoticed and Orrin, who is the Community Manager at the official Pixel forum, said that Google is looking into the issue, and will soon offer a temporary fix for the same.
“We are investigating a faint, low-frequency “clicking” or “ticking” noise that a small number of Pixel 2 users have reported. This clicking noise does not affect the performance of your device beyond the audible noise. If you find the noise bothersome, we suggest temporarily turning off NFC (used by apps like Android Pay) in Settings > Connected devices > NFC. We are investigating and will have a more definitive response soon.”
Last week, when the display burn-in issues for the Pixel 2 XL came under the spotlight, a Google spokesperson said, “We put all of our products through extensive quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit.” ALSO READ: Google Pixel 2: Even if the newest flagship doesn’t succeed, Android is still winning
