Google News is steadily rolling out a new section called “Suggested for you,” which as the name indicates will display news stories based on your interests. According to Bharat, “the goal is to surface narrow and local topics specific to you. He further says that the news stories in this section will keep changing in order to “keep things fresh and serendipitous.” While Google will display news it feels you will be interested in, you can further customize exactly what you want to see by clicking on the “Not Interested” button. As per the screenshot shared by Bharat, every news story will have the precise reason why it was suggested to you. So the story on Entertainment Tonight about Katy Perry inspired a Coldplay song? Was suggested because, “You were interested in Coldplay.” The Not Interested button is placed adjacent to this line.
