Chromebooks run on Google s Chrome OS, which has its own pros and cons. The Chrome OS-powered laptops don t run Windows applications, and all you can do is run Chrome browser, its extensions and web apps. Since the operating system revolves around the Chrome browser, you will also need internet connectivity to do most of the things. On the plus side, many people find the operating system a lot productive, as there aren t many distractions. And of course, Chromebooks are dirt-cheap, so if all you intend to do with your laptop is watch movies, browse web, and other basic operations, Chromebooks should be enough for you.
The operating system has become a lot sophisticated over the past few months. It is now capable of movies playback in offline mode, and supports a handful of Android apps including Evernote, Duolingo, Vine, in addition to popular web services like Photoshop online.
These notebooks however don t come with lots of internal storage, that s why the online storage is important. With 1TB, you will be able to store 100,000 awkward holiday sweater pics safe and shareable in Drive,” wrote Alex Vogenthaler, Group Product Manager. “With that much free storage, you can use your Chromebook for work, play and pretty much everything else you’ll do this holiday season.”
The offer will last until January 1, so you still have a few weeks to decide.
