Night Sight, which is the new enhanced low-light imaging system from Google, was announced alongside the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The feature was first showcased at the launch of Pixel 3 in New York last month, and has now finally hit all the Google Pixel devices, which includes the first, second and third generation Pixel devices. The feature is enabled by an update to the Google Camera app that powers the imaging experience on the Pixel smartphones. Once updated, users can experience the new feature by heading to more, and then tapping on Night Sight option in the camera interface. The Night Sight takes the place of Lens in Google Camera s revamped user interface. And now it seems that Google Pixel 2 users will be able to enhance their Night Sight photos to an even higher degree, courtesy of a new Google Camera mod. XDA Developers report that the new mod will feature Tracking Autofocus on Night Sight, which will essentially keep the target subject in focus even with movement. The camera app will lock on to the subject and keep tracking it throughout the scene. This will hep take photographs of subjects like children and pets who tend to make a lot of movement, and this feature will eliminate the need to manually focus on them when clicking the photo. Another new feature that is hitting is Motion Metering on Night Sight. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL both have received the update for Night Sight, but it does not exactly have all the features being availed on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. Motion Metering will make sure a photo taken on Night Sight won’t blur out moving subjects and remove any effects from shakes.

Night Sight is already a very refined feature from the Google Camera app, and these mods will make it even better. The mod can be downloaded manually, but users must note that this is not an official release and Google cannot be held accountable for any malfunction.
