Google has launched what it calls the Best Buy offer, under which the new Pixel 2 XL has received a temporary price cut. This means that, till December 31, the Google Pixel 2 XL will be available at Rs 64,999 for the 64GB variant, and Rs 73,999 for the one with 128GB storage. The offer is applicable on purchase via cash and card payment.
In addition to the temporary price cut, HDFC credit card users will also be eligible for a cashback of Rs 8,000. Which means, the essential price of the Pixel 2 XL comes down to Rs 56,999 for the 64GB variant, and Rs 65,999 for the 128GB model. Reportedly, with select large format retailers also offering this cashback on purchases made with HDFC debit card.
BGR India was also told by the representatives at the Google pop-up store in DLF Mall of India, Noida, that along with the cashback, customers will also receive a Google Daydream View headset for free, during the purchase of the Pixel 2 XL. We were told that this offer too was valid till December 31.
Further, Airtel is also coming together with Google to offer a special data bundle on purchase of the Pixel 2 XL. Under the offer, customers will receive additional 120GB data for six months on prepaid recharges of Rs 549, and postpaid plans of Rs 649 and above. This means, 20GB data every month for the next six months. For postpaid users, the additional data can be carried over from one month to the next with a maximum cap of 200GB. The data bundle will need to be activated through the My Airtel app. This offer is applicable for both new and existing Airtel users.
It is important to note that this offer with Airtel is applicable only till May 31, 2018. Airtel also mentions in its website, that this offer is exclusive to Pixel 2 XL. Which means it will be activated only if you recharge or update plan once SIM is placed in the Pixel 2 XL device, and in case the customer removes the SIM from the eligible device, the benefits will cease.
Google Pixel 2 XL specifications and features
Google Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch P-OLED QHD+ display running at a resolution of 1440×2880 pixels, and a pixel density of 538ppi. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM.
The Pixel 2 XL’s camera logged highest DxOMark score of 98, leaving the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus behind. It sports a 12.2-megapixel camera of aperture f/1.8 with optical image stabilization (OIS), 4K video recording capabilities, and Machine Learning-based Portrait mode to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos without the dual-camera setup. The mode also works on the 8-megapixel front camera.
The Pixel 2 XL also feature always-on display to show you notifications, and the song that is playing on your smartphone. The smartphone also comes with a squeeze feature (similar to HTC U11) for quick access to Google Assistant.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The smartphone also comes with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. Fuelling the device is a 3,520mAh battery.
