There seems to be no end in sight for the ongoing troubles for Google s new Pixel 2 smartphones. Now yet another problem has surfaced online regarding a strange flashing of the screen. A post on Google s Product Forums highlights a strange issue with the Google Pixel 2 XL. Essentially, when unlocking the device, the screen briefly flashes and then wakes up to show the notifications and the home screen. This issue, he says, was first noticed during the initial setup. While it doesn t happen every time you unlock the device, the issue has been noticed quite frequently. As with such cases, after the original post went up, a few more users have responded saying that they too have been facing this issue.
Restarting or even resetting the device doesn t seem to help, so this could be a hardware problem with the Pixel 2 XL s screen. Google has yet to acknowledge this issue. This isn t the first time an issue with the Pixel 2 XL s display is being reported. The most widespread issue was burn-in or ghosting, but Google has since responded with a software update that will fix it. Just yesterday, reports surfaced online about users complaining on how the oleophobic coating on the screen has started peeling off.

Since launch, some of the other reported issues were a weird clicking sound while on call, and low quality audio recording.
