For the third straight year, Google might launch the Pixel 3 on October 4. Before deciding to build its own smartphones in 2016, Google started teasing its October hardware event as something that the world will remember eight years later. With the second generation Pixel smartphones, Google nearly delivered on the promise of perfect smartphone but felt short due to some unavoidable issues.
Lately, the Google Pixel 3 has been part of all the major leaks and has even started appearing on benchmarking platforms, suggesting the launch is imminent. Now, a new report indicates that Google will yet again be launching its flagship smartphone on October 4. Famebit, a branded content platform on YouTube, has recently emerged as one of the easiest ways for brands to directly work with creators on projects and advertisements. For the Pixel 3 launch, Google is apparently collaborating with Famebit for local engagement activity in Canada.
First spotted by This is Tech Today and reported by Android Police, Famebit has posted an ad allegedly endorsed by Google, that confirms the plans for Pixel 3 launch in October. The ad seemingly confirms that the company will be hosting an event on October 4 where it will launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. It shouldn’t come as a surprise since Google has launched its hardware on this same date for the past two years.
During the Pixel event last year, Google had launched the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixelbook, Google Home Mini and Max smart speakers. In the ad posted by Famebit, Google seems to be looking for Canadian creators to apply for the sponsored deal, where they will share their story regarding the upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
Google primarily is asking these creators to show the process of switching from their existing device to Pixel 3 and explain how and why they did it. The listing also suggests that the new Pixel phones will go on sale soon after their launch on October 4. In the past, Google Pixel phones were made available only few weeks after their launch. While the ad seems legit, there is nothing concrete to confirm that Google is indeed launching the smartphone on October 4.

As far as Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are concerned, the leaks so far indicate that Google will finally make 18:9 aspect ratio standard on both Pixel models. The Pixel 3 is expected to retain the form factor of its predecessor with taller display while Pixel 3 XL is expected to sport a notched display. Like last year’s models, the new Pixel phones will come with single rear camera setup and dual front cameras.
A Geekbench listing indicated that Pixel 3 XL will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and come with 4GB of RAM. Both the phones will likely feature glass back with glossy finish on the top and matte finish on the lower half. Google is also said to launch a wireless charging dock called Pixel Stand during the event this year.
