At its ‘Made by Google’ event in New York today, Google announced the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. The new Pixel devices replace last year’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and come with new advancements in software and camera while retaining the familiar design of its predecessor with minor changes.
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be available in Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink colors and Google confirmed that it will be available in India starting November 1. The Pixel 3 prices start at $799 (around Rs 59,200) for the base model, while the Pixel 3 XL starts at $899 (around Rs 66,500). Ahead of the launch event, Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart announced that the smartphones will be exclusive to its platform. This is the third consecutive year of the exclusive partnership between the two brands.
A report earlier said that Google is planning a launch event in India on October 22 and the Pixel 3 is expected to start at Rs 71,000. The third generation Pixel phones are priced higher than their predecessors. With the Rupee depreciating in the past few months and Google raising the price of these new models by $50 this year, it is certain that you will have to shell a bit more for this year’s Pixel smartphones.
