Google is set to launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones tomorrow. The launch will put an end to all the leaks and rumors that we have seen over the past months. The Pixel 3 XL, the larger of the two models, has leaked so much that it is now officially referred to as the most leaked smartphone of all time.

While the leaks have painted a clear picture of what to expect from Google’s event tomorrow, a new leak details Google’s plan for these devices in India. At the event tomorrow in New York, Google is expected to unveil Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL smartphones alongside Pixel Stand wireless charger, Pixel Slate detachable device with Chrome OS, Google Home Hub and an updated Chromecast.

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL India launch date

According to MSP, Google is planning to launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones in India on October 22. Last year, Google had launched the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on October 4, which were consequently made available in India on October 26. This year, it seems the search giant is not willing wait out for another week, and is instead launching the device during the fourth week itself.

For the distribution of first and second generation Pixel smartphones, Google had partnered with Flipkart. It is likely that Google will continue to sell the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL via Flipkart in the online channel while it could also be made available via other retail channels. More details including availability and pricing should become clear close to launch.

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL: Expected Price and Specifications

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to be an incremental upgrade to last year’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The leaks so far indicate that there will be two models – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL – both differing in terms of display size, design and battery. The Pixel 3, as the name implies, will be the smaller model with a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display, and is expected to get rid of large bezels seen on its predecessor.

The Pixel 3 XL, on the other hand, is rumored to feature a larger 6.3-inch Quad HD+ OLED display and a deep notch at the front. The leaks also suggest that Google will stick with dual tone back finish like last year’s models. However, this year, both the models are said to feature an all glass back in order to enable wireless charging. If you are looking for radical design change like the Galaxy S8 or iPhone X then you will be disappointed.

Both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and are expected to be offered with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage on the base model. While companies like Huawei, Samsung and LG have made a switch to triple rear camera setup, Google is expected to stick with single camera on the back. Both the Pixel phones are expected to feature an updated 12.2-megapixel rear camera sensor with new AI enhancements for features like portrait mode. At the front, they are said to feature dual-camera setup with one standard lens and another wide-angle lens.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, and will be among the first devices to support Digital Wellbeing feature out of beta. The Pixel 3 XL is also rumored to feature a larger 3,700mAh battery this year. Last year’s Pixel smartphones were not short of problems but they stood out for their cameras and software. With Pixel 3 having leaked so constantly, it will need to be seen what Google brings to the table.
