According to 9to5Google, the overheating problem is so bad in some Pixel 3 units that it s causing the smartphones to automatically shut down. As per reports, the issue seems to crop up when the smartphone is used for a resource-intensive task (such as extended video call) while it s being charged.
As of now, it s unclear how many Pixel 3 (and possibly Pixel 3 XL) units are affected by this overheating issue. Some users have even reported that a replacement device causes the problem to go away, so it s quite possible that it s a small batch of defective units.
