Google has always been lagging behind when it comes to adding features on its Nexus or Pixel line of devices. OEMs were the first to integrate a fingerprint scanner, water resistance, wireless charging, and even the infamous notch. Now, with the Pixel 3 XL, Google is finally adding a notch, and wireless charging feature as well.
Twitter user @khoroshev has shared a small video showing off the Pixel 3 XL’s wireless charging at work. The same user had earlier shared camera samples of the upcoming Google smartphone.

While the video does not offer anything specific about the wireless charging capabilities, but it does show that the upcoming Pixel smartphone will at least include this feature. To enable this, it also means that the new phones will come with glass back.

The video also shows the animation that accompanies wireless charging. The moment you place the phone on the wireless charging pad, a quick animation pops up on the screen. It has the battery percentage in the center and circle of dots surrounding it.
From what we know so far, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will retain a single camera at the back, and we expect Google to add more refinements to it. The smartphones will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB storage options. While Google hasn’t confirmed anything yet, rumors hint that the launch event will take place on October 4, for third time in a row.
