Google is widely expected to ditch the Nexus line of smartphones and launch two new smartphones called Pixel and Pixel XL, made by HTC. Along with these smartphones, Google is also reportedly working on its second Pixel-branded tablet to go along with the 10-inch Pixel C tablet that was launched last year. It has reportedly tasked Huawei for developing the next, compact Pixel tablet. The source of information comes from reliable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), who has also hinted at some of the expected specifications. According to Blass, the Huawei made tablet will sport a 7-inch display and 4GB of RAM. It will be launched before the end of the year. As he did not mention Nexus branding anywhere, there are high chances that Google may drop the moniker in favor of Pixel. The tablet is likely to be long awaited successor of the 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet that was released back in 2013. Earlier this year, Huawei also filed a trademark for Huawei 7P and it shouldn t come as a surprise if the tablet is eventually launched as Google Pixel 7P. As if now, details about the launch date and pricing are missing, but Google may choose to unveil the tablet on October 4, when it is widely expected to launch the Pixel, Pixel XL, Daydream VR headset and a 4K Chromecast dongle too.
