This suggests that Google will first bring the second-generation Pixel Buds to the market. It will then be followed by the launch of Pixel Buds 3 alongside the Pixel 5 series later this year. The design makes one thing clear that Pixel Buds 3 will be smaller than its predecessor. Also Read - Google moves Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 production to Vietnam due to Coronavirus outbreak: Report
Google Pixel Buds 3 might arrive this year
The earbuds seem to have a design similar to that of the original Pixel Buds. Of course, there is no wire between them. Google seems to be getting rid of the fins and the eartips that were seen in the second-generation Pixel Buds. This leaked design of the Pixel Buds indicates a compact and ergonomic design. Smaller and compact earbuds are the trend in the truly wireless earbuds market. Jabra, Sennheiser and even Apple have introduced a compact version of its true wireless earbuds. We only have the patent images for the Pixel Buds 3 to work with here. The launch timeline or key feature of these earbuds are not known just yet. We might see these launch towards the end of this year alongside the Pixel 5 smartphones. However, that launch might get pushed since the Pixel Buds 2 are yet to hit retail shelves in major markets.
Google has already revealed that the Pixel Buds 2 will retail for $179 (around Rs 13,725). The first true wireless earbuds from Google bring support for Google Assistant, fast pairing and even support wireless charging. It has been spotted on the website of Bluetooth SIG and FCC with model numbers G1007 and G1008 respectively. Another variant with model number G1013 has also appeared on the website of Wireless Power Consortium. With the pending launch of Pixel Buds 2, its successor might have to wait a little bit longer.
