Google s Pixel and Nexus devices are all set to receive the June security patch that is rolling out at the moment. The new update contains perfunctory bug fixes, and security updates for both the Pixel and Nexus devices. The two security patches that are coming up in June are dated 2018-06-01 and 2018-06-05, and these have 38 and 20 big fixes respectively. The issues range from high to critical. The issues that have been fixed have most severe nature relating to the media framework, and a remote attacker possibly executing arbitrary code through a crafted file. According to Google, no customers were affected by these issues, and it even declared in its 2017 report that 30 percent more devices have received patches, compared to the last year. In the month of April, Google had 56 functional updates which amount to only six this month along with 66 security fixes for Google phones and tablets.
Bluetooth LE performance, improved antenna-switching behavior in areas of weak coverage for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are some of the fixes that have been implemented in this new version. Besides these, the new devices that will be launched by Google this year is all set to have improved Always On Display consistency and proximity sensor behavior. Google s Pixel smartphones ought to get improved Wi-Fi connectivity as well.
