Google Pixel price in India starts from Rs 57,000, pre-orders from October 13 on Flipkart

At the global launch of the Google Pixel, the company has announced the new smartphones will be available in India for pre-order from next week. Here’s everything you need to know.

Google has announced that its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will be available for preorder in India from next week. With price starting at Rs 57,000, the Google Pixel will be available for pre-order in India starting October 13 via Flipkart and over 1000 plus organized and multi-brand retail stores with leading retail partners including Reliance Digital, Croma and Vijay sales among others.  Google will be offering interest free EMI programs and upgrade offers. Pixel users will have access to a toll free phone support number along with 54 walk in service centers across more than 30 cities in India.

India is among the first six countries where Pixel is being launched. The Google Pixel will be available in India in two sizes – 5-inch and 5.5-inch, and two colors – Quite Black and Very Silver. The smartphones will be available in 32GB and 128GB storage variants. Google’s Pixel smartphones are the first lot of devices that come with Google Assistant, voice-based digital assistant, out-of-the-box. Successor to Google Now, Google Assistant is smarter, allowing users to perform multiple tasks through voice commands. It also supports contextual search. The Pixel smartphones come preloaded with Google’s new video-messaging app, Duo. Like the Nexus smartphones, Google has built design and software for the new Pixel smartphones. The smartphones come 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the front display and back glass. The smartphones run the newest Android operating system, Android 7.1 Nougat.  The smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor along with 4GB of RAM.  The Google Pixel comes with 12.3-megapixel rear camera with f2/0 aperture, and LED Flash. The company claims the Google Pixel has the best smartphone camera with a DxOMark score of 89, even surpassing the Apple iPhone 7. The smartphone comes with modes like HDR+ and Smartbust. It supports video recording in 4K resolution, and video stabilization. Google is offering unlimited photo and video storage on Google Photos in their original quality.

The smartphones come with fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 3.5mm audio port, USB Type-C and Bluetooth 4.2
