Alongside the flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, Google also took the wraps off two interesting products. In line with the leaks, the first is a new tablet called Pixel Slate. The other product is for smart homes, and is called Home Hub. Also Read - PUBG New State receives over 17 million pre-registrations as closed alpha testing ends

Google kicked off tonight s event with the new Home Hub. This is basically a smart Google Assistant device with a screen. Unsurprisingly, comparisons are already been made with Amazon s Echo Show, and the newly announced Facebook Portal. Also Read - Honor phones to come with Google Mobile Services: Report
Google’s smart display may resemble a tablet, but it can’t be used as one. The Hub is glued onto a fabric speaker base, and cannot be removed. It flaunts a 7-inch touchscreen LCD display, and there’s a built-in Ambient EQ setting that tweaks the display’s colors according to the ambient lighting conditions. Unlike other smart displays, the Home Hub doesn’t feature a camera, but it does come with two far-field microphones on the front.
Functionality is similar to what you expect from Smart Displays with some optimized apps like Home View, and Live Albums to name a few. The Home Hub is priced at $149 (Rs 11,000 approximately), and will be going on sale in select countries from October 22. Buyers will be able to choose from Chalk, Charcoal, Pink, and Aqua colors.
Google Pixel Slate
As the name suggests, the Pixel Slate is Google s second attempt at creating a Pixel-branded tablet. This new Slate is expected to take on the high-end Apple iPad Pro, and the Microsoft Surface Pro. Unlike the Pixel C that ran Android OS, the Pixel Slate is essentially a Chrome OS tablet.
With a detachable keyboard cover, the Pixel Slate can be easily mistaken for a 2-in-1. It features a 12.3-inch QHD resolution display, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 256GB internal storage. There’s an 8-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera. The Pixel Slate comes with support for Pixelbook Pen, and there is a one-touch button to fire up Google Assistant. The Slate also features POGO pins to connect the detachable keyboard.
The Pixel Slate is priced at $599 (Rs 44,400 approximately), the keyboard at $199 (Rs 14,700 approximately), and the Pen at $99 (Rs 7,300 approximately). The Slate will be going on sale later this year in select markets.
