The report cites sources with close knowledge of Google’s plan who say that the Mountain View-based company is very close to launching the service in India. The service essentially compares airline fares on multiple websites and gives you the cheapest fares on its search page itself with the relevant link. The service is already widely used in the US and Europe. It is even integrated with its Google Now app.

The report further mentions that travel websites in India like Makemytrip, Yatra and Cleartrip feel that Google’s flight search will affect their own services in a big way and are likely to file a complaint at the Competition Commission against the Internet search giant. Google is currently facing a similar case in Europe, where websites like Expedia and TripAdvisor, have filed a complaint at the European Commission.
