Google has finally started rolling out the November 2018 Android security patch update for its original Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices in the market. This launch comes about two weeks after Google launched the update for rest of the Google Pixel and Nexus lineup of devices. Both the devices were not included during the initial rollout of the update. The company has not revealed any information on why the update was delayed for these devices. Taking a closer look at the update, there seem to be no feature updates for both devices except security-related bug fixes and general system improvements. According to XDA Developers, the Over The Air (OTA) update may take some time to reach your device if you are a Google Pixel and Pixel XL owner. Though, if you want to update your device as soon as possible then the update files are already available for download. Both the full factory images with the November security patch and OTA update files are available for download. The full factory images for the Pixel and Pixel XL amounts to 1.76GB and 1.77GB respectively. Also Read - Apple CEO Tim Cook claims iOS is more secure than Android

The files can be downloaded from the Google Developers website. In case you are planning to flash system factory images on your device then you need to have an unlocked bootloader. Talking about the update timeline, it will be worth nothing if the company again delays the December Android security update for both devices next month.
This comes right after the company started rolling out its Call Screen feature for Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices. Google also rolled out its much anticipated Night Sight mode for all the Pixel devices.
