On making a search query, the search results might show results that can be accessed by opening a pre-installed app on the device. For instance, if one is searching for a movie and has IMDb installed on the smartphone, the search results would show a link to the relevant page inside IMDb that users can click and open inside the app. Also Read - Google Pixel Watch renders reveal key design details: Know details

Search results will now also display links to relevant apps that one can download from the Play store. Once installed search results will start displaying the “open in app” link within a couple of days. However, right now not all apps are compatible. The Open in app feature is currently supported for the following apps: AllTrails, Allthecooks, Beautylish, Etsy, Expedia, Flixster, Healthtap, IMDb, Moviefone, Newegg, OpenTable, Trulia, and Wikipedia. Google says it is working with more developers to bring this feature to their apps. Also Read - Big threat for Google, Twitter, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn users
