Internet giant Google will be testing its driverless car in London in the near future. In fact, it would be the first time the vehicles would be tested extensively outside the US by Google, the Independent reported. Deputy Mayor for Transport, Isabel Dedring, has been meeting with Google representatives regarding the proposed scheme. “It’s going to have to work in big cities so why don’t we start trialling it now? Google have said they are focused on the States, but they’re starting to think about going elsewhere so we’re in active discussions. We met them a few weeks ago to see whether they would do trials here,” Dedring said. Also Read - Google officially rolls out Android 13 TV: Check details

“It is still very early days but we would be keen for trials to happen in London whenever Google are ready to move them into other countries,” she added.

Last year, Google had announced its driverless car, without steering wheel or brake pedals, which is driven entirely by variety of on-board computers and sensors. Google had said that they will make nearly 100 cars like this for testing purpose.

Back in January during CES 2016, there were reports that claimed that Google has partnered with Ford to official make driverless cars.
