Google has announced support for five more Indian languages to its Translate product on iPhone. The updated app, which is being rolled out as we write, will now support Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, taking the total number of languages supported to 63. These five languages were first offered on the desktop version of Google Translate in June. The app will not only show dictionary results for words but also display the romanizations, which will enable non-speakers to speak the phrase to some extent. “Google Translate for iPhone now supports text translation among 63 languages, voice input in 17 of those languages, and text-to-speech in 24 of them,” the company mentioned in a statement.
