Information has emerged on the internet stating that Google is planning to roll out its material design refresh for its in-house web browser, Google Chrome with its upcoming version 69 next month. According to a report by 9to5Google, the company will roll out this new design refresh across all operating systems . The report pointed out that Google has mentioned this design in its Enterprise release notes for the upcoming version of Chrome. The release notes just state the new design as Browser interface changes without going much into detail about what will be different in the new interface. The report stated that even though Google has not confirmed that the changelog actually refers to Material Design refresh but it is highly likely that it will be the new Material design refresh. This is because the developers have long been working on this new design. According to the report, the new design is referred to as the Material Design refresh on the desktop while it is known as the Modern Design on Android. The report went on to point out that this new update will also bring support for notification center integration along with touchpad gestures on Windows 10. The report noted that Google Chrome version 69 is scheduled to hit the stable channel on September 4, 2018. If the company follows its rollout schedule then version 69 will start rolling out on Android a few days later .
Google Chrome on Chrome OS-powered tablets and convertibles received the new design with version 67, and 68. We are not sure if the new design is based on the version update or if Google will flip a server-side switch to enable it for all the browsers.
