Google introduced its ‘+1’ button earlier this year to make search more relevant by giving preference to results +1ed by a user’s circle of friends in search results. Today, the +1 button has graduated to Google+’s implementation of Facebook Share button. Over the next week, Google will start rolling out a feature that would enable Google+ users to make web pages they +1 visible on their public Google+ profile. The feature is already live on BGR! Facebook users will say what’s the big deal? They have had the feature for a long time. Well, those were the exact sentiments of Google+ users after Facebook’s massive privacy features announcement yesterday. I expect both Google and Facebook learn from each other and keep adopting the best features they see. And I still believe both Google+ and Facebook will co-exist and Google+ is not a Facebook killer.
