Similar to Google Allo’s “Selfie Stickers,” the search giant has introduced AI-powered custom emoji stickers on Gboard, called the “Mini”. Google has launched “Mini” stickers for Android and iOS today. Users can get the feature by updating the Gboard for iOS or Gboard for Android app to the latest version via App Store or Google Play respectively.
Google originally launched “selfie stickers” for the Allo chat app last year. According to Google, the feature uses a combination of neural networks and the work of artists to turn your selfie into a personalized sticker pack.
These Mini stickers in Gboard creates a Bitmoji-like avatar for you by simply clicking a selfie. The process involves various factors and characteristics into account before turning it in an emoji. It takes your skin tone, hair color and style, eye color, face shape and facial hair to create the avatar.
“Mini can create 100 new sticker styles using your personalized avatar on top of the existing ones that rolled out with the original Allo selfie stickers. Those designs come in Bold and Sweet modes, so you’ll have a plethora of stickers to choose from for when you want to be sassy or sweet without using words,” notes Engadget.

To create a Mini sticker, you need to tap in Stickers section on Gboard, find a new ‘Your minis’ option to snap a selfie, and it’ll return an automatically generated illustrated version of you. Once you’ve created your Mini avatar it’ll then give you more customization options to help personalize the stickers even further.
