At its annual Pixel event last year, Google launched Pixelbook alongside Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. With Pixelbook, Google showed its ambition for Chrome OS and how it aims to steal market share from Microsoft Windows-powered devices in the education segment.

Now, the search giant is expected to unveil second generation Pixelbook devices at its October 9 event in New York, where it will also launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Ahead of the launch, two Chrome OS tablet keyboards were spotted and now a new image shows how a Chrome tablet will attach to one of these keyboards. This device is expected to be called the Pixelbook tablet and is internally referred to as Nocturne, which could be announced at the company event on October 9.

The pictures shared by About Chromebooks shows a tablet that looks very much similar to Apple iPad Pro. The display is rendering Chrome OS screen and has rounded corners and really thin frame. However, the bezels surrounding the display are considerably thick for a modern device. It also shows a USB Type-C port on the bottom left of the tablet and leaks claim that Nocturne is being designed with two USB Type-C ports.

These images also speaker setup and are probably on both the sides, which could allow for a stereo setup. There is a flat power button at the top of the device, which could be embedding the fingerprint sensor as well. It is possible that Google might be working with the idea of a fingerprint sensor embedded within the button.

Nocturne is said to be the flagship Chrome OS tablet from Google and it is said to lack SD Card and support acoustic echo cancellation. It is said to be powered by 8th generation Intel Core processor and will have pogo pin on one side to latch onto detachable keyboard and case. The Nocturne is expected to arrive alongside Pixelbook 2, which will have a traditional clamshell form factor.
