The Great Indian shopping festival is about to begin on December 10, and as Google India had announced earlier, the pre-party has begun today. Google is carrying out a lot of contests and games and launching exclusive products, leading up to the three-day shopping festival. Google has launched an exclusive game that tests your shopping speed, and is live now on the GOSF website. If you win the game, they will send you gifts (discount coupons, vouchers etc) on your mentioned email id. The company has not revealed any more information on what kind of gifts you should expect from the game. Also Read - Here's how US based Google Pay users can send money to India
For the GOSF pre-party, Google has partnered with 14 brands for an everyday contest, which if you won, will give you the chance of shopping for 14 minutes for free. In these 14 minutes, the company will allow you to buy whatever you want up to Rs 2.5 lakhs. The companies that have partnered with Google in this initiative include Micromax, Asian Paints, Koovs, HP, Lakme, Lenovo and Amazon’s Kindle among others.
Google has also brought in global brands that have never been seen in India before. Calling it the launch corner, GOSF will have a dedicated section for products exclusively coming in just for the three-day festival. These products will be revealed only on December 10.
Looking at catering to all price points, GOSF will have another section where everything will be priced at Rs 299 flat. This includes ‘Free Home Delivery’ and ‘Cash on Delivery’ options. Hundreds of retailers have pooled in their products for this section and Google is calling it the ‘Rs 299 Corner’.
GOSF 2014, as reported earlier, will be held from December 10 to December 12. Looking at the categories, almost every online commerce site in India is a part of this initiative. There are sections from lifestyle, electronics, books to mobile apps and even matrimonial websites. If last year’s GOSF including this year’s online mega sales by Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal are any testimony, GOSF 2014 is going to be a huge crowd puller.
