Here’s how Twitter reacted to the #earthquake in Nepal

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake has hit Nepal, 26 kilometers east of Lamjung. As you would expect, the social media has been buzzing all morning with people at the scene sharing photos of the destruction,

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake has hit Nepal, 26 kilometers east of Lamjung. As you would expect, the social media has been buzzing all morning with people at the scene sharing photos of the destruction, as well as sharing emergency helpline numbers.

The US Geological Service claims that the quake was at a depth of 15 kilometers, and tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Bihar, Jharkhand as we as Kolkata. The earthquake has caused major damages in Nepal to property, including the 2.5 century Dharahara tower that has collapsed.

Twitter users based out of Kathmandu have tweeted photos of the destruction, and some of them follow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too tweeted about the natural disaster, and has said that the PMO is trying to get in touch with the Nepal PM Shri Sushil Koirala, who is currently abroad.
