Microsoft recently showed how Windows looked running on 8-inch tablets, but now the folks at WinBeta have come across screenshots of the operating system running on smaller devices. Where Windows 10 for 8-inch tablets looks similar to the PC counterpart, Windows 10 on smaller devices will come with a Windows Phone-like UI. The screenshots show that most of the apps are not able to use the extra space to their advantage. But keep in mind, this is a look at an early build. There are however exceptions including the Calculator and the Voice recorder, which make use of the bigger screen by using a three paneled interface. In one screenshot, the new File Explorer shows the hierarchy of your folders on the left pane, while the content of the folder will be displaying on the right pane.
Apart from these minuscule changes remaining everything is similar to the Windows Phone. Microsoft is also said to be working onimproving the touch experience on Windows 10. The Redmond-based company will hope to have all these issues ironed out before the BUILD conference scheduled for later this month.
