Airtel is reportedly offering some users a couple of low-cost plans that include unlimited free voice calls and 14GB of data. The two plans are priced at Rs 145-Rs 149 and Rs 349 with validity up to 28 days. In comparison to Airtel s existing data plans and rival Reliance Jio s, these plans definitely seem to give users value for their money. If you have been looking for the same plans on Airtel s website or app or even via customer care and unable to find them, here s what you need to know. According to industry sources, the two plans have existed for some time now. Sources say that these plans are based on back-end algorithms which monitor a person s usage patterns and offered accordingly. Sources also say that this plan may be altered for some users with data limit extending up to 20GB. So, there are chances very few may get these plans or get deals that are even better than the current ones. This is quite similar to what we had reported about Airtel s recent Rs 100 plan that offered 10GB of data.

Right now, Airtel offers 500 MB of 4G data for Rs 145 and 1GB of data for Rs 345. Both plans are valid up to 28 days. The Rs 145 plan offers free local and STD calls to Airtel network plus 50MB of 3G data and 300MB for 4G handset users with this pack. The Rs 345 plan offers free local and STD calls to any network plus 1GB of data for 4G handset users and 50MB for others. Both the plans have a validity of 28 days.

Earlier, an ET report detailed the two plans, which are priced at Rs 145-Rs 149 and Rs 349 respectively. The plan priced at Rs 145 is said to offer free local and STD calls to Airtel customers, and also 14GB of 3G/4G data. The 349 plan on the other hand, is said to offer free calls to any network along with the same 14GB of 3G/4G data. There would be a daily cap on the data usage which is 500MB per day. These plans are currently said to be for Airtel prepaid users only.

A lot of Airtel users have said that they have received such plans. There have been more Airtel users who have tweeted saying that they ve already received such offers with one claiming to get 14GB of free data and free Airtel calls for Rs 148.

Reliance Jio has created a lot of buzz in the telecom space ever since it commercially launched services in September 2016. Thanks to a slew of freebies which include unlimited free voice calls, free data along with free subscription to Jio services. The freebies have helped Reliance Jio garner 100 million users in such short period of time. But now Reliance Jio has ended its free offers and is going to charge for its services excluding voice calls.

Jio, however, gives users to enjoy the Happy New Year offers through a Jio Prime membership service. While the membership costs Rs 99 annually, customers can enjoy the benefits of the offer by paying Rs 303 per month, which brings down the total cost to nearly Rs 10 per day.
