While many eagerly wait for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there are still many smartphones yet to be updated to Lollipop. Among these are Honor s smartphones, but the good news is its smartphones will start receiving updates next month. Honor revealed its roll out plan via social media, and among the first smartphones to get the Lollipop update will be the Honor 4C on September 21. This will be followed by the Honor 6 Plus on September 29, Honor 6 on September 25, and the last will be the Honor 4X, which will be updated on October 20.
Once updated, these smartphones will run on Android Lollipop wrapped under the latest Emotion 3.1 UI. The latest UI update brings with it design and performance improvements, as well as security enhancements among others.
On the aforementioned dates, users will be notified of the update. Alternatively, one will also be able to head over to About phone under Settings, and click on Software update.
Recently, Honor launched the Honor 7i in China with a unique 13-megapixel rotatable camera and fingerprint scanner. It features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor and Adreno 405 GPU.
The smartphone comes in two variants 16GB and 32GB with the former featuring 2GB of RAM, while the latter features 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also features a microSD card slot, 3,100mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, and GPS.
