Apple today finally announced what we had known for a while now. The next generation iPhone, probably called iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be unveiled on September 9, according to an invitation sent to the media. The invitation this time says, “Hey Siri, give us a hint”, which could be pointing towards new features Siri would be getting in iOS 9. Probably it could hint at the new voicemail service Apple is rumored to be working on called iCloud voicemail. According to multiple leaks and rumors, the new iPhones will get Force Touch technology that we saw in the Apple Watch. They are also expected to get a RAM boost to 2GB and a leak of internal components earlier today showed the new A9 chip. Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are also expected to have a bumped up 12-megapixel camera that will finally be able to shoot videos in 4K resolution.
In the new iPhones, Apple has also reportedly taken steps to ensure that Bendgate doesn’t happen again. The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are expected to be slightly thicker than their predecessor.
Apart from the hardware, Apple will also unveil the finished iOS 9, Watch OS 2 and Mac OS X El Capitan.
