HMD Global, the company responsible for bringing back Nokia smartphones from the brink of death is planning to launch the next Nokia-branded smartphone, the Nokia 5.1, on July 11. According to a report by Baidu, a photo of the promo poster for the Nokia 5.1 leaked out on the internet. The poster revealed that the company has priced the device with 32GB internal storage at 799 CNY (approximately Rs 8,289) and 64GB internal storage variant at 999 CNY (approximately Rs 10,364).
A report by GSMArena suggests that HMD Global is inclined to price the devices at a lower amount in the Chinese market in comparison to the global prices. The leaked photo of the promo poster confirms that the Nokia 5.1 will come with a notched display, something that was revealed in a TENAA listing. As previously reported, the device will come with a Snapdragon 600-series SoC or Helio P60 SoC along with 3GB, 4GB, and possible 6GB RAM variants in various combinations with 32GB or 64GB internal storage. HMD Global is likely to add a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 720×1520 pixels resolution along with a dual-camera setup sporting a 13-megapixel primary and 5-megapixel secondary camera.

The device will come with an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the front of the device for selfies while running on a 3,000 mAh battery. The report on Baidu goes on to state that HMD Global is working on two additional devices with plans to launch them in the third quarter of the year.
One of the two devices will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset while the second device will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC. The Snapdragon 710-powered device is likely to be the successor to the Nokia 7 Plus and could be launched by the end of September during IFA 2018.
The report points out that Snapdragon 845-powered device is expected to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner along with a “best-in-class camera”. HMD Global has not issued any official statement in response to this, so it may be possible that plans could change as the time approaches.
