After being announced at MWC 2017, the Nokia 6 made its way to China first and then to India last month. However, we are still waiting for a global version of the smartphone, which is anticipated to launch on July 10. With the launch date inching nearer, Nokia has confirmed that the global version of Nokia 6 will launch sans notification LED. The smartphone is said to be available starting August 2 in the UK from Carphone Warehouse. global versions TA-1033, TA-1039, TA-1021, TA-1025 do not support LED notifications , said Nokia Mobile Support Team to nokiamob. net. The Nokia Support team, however, clarified stating, “When it comes to your inquiry about the removal of LED from the global version, please be aware that in regards to global markets, due to specific research, a decision has been made about the removal of the LED.”
A notification LED can be spotted up front, placed near the front camera of the smartphone. The feature usually makes things easier for by alerting the users about receiving an SMS, call WhatsApp, email or other notification. Users can even customize the LED notification depending on their choice.
Recently, the smartphone was also listed on Amazon US website carrying a price tag of Rs $229, which is approximately Rs 14,900. In India, the Nokia 6 was launched last month for Rs 14,999 alongside Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. The global variant of the Nokia 6 is also said to be available in Copper and Silver color variants. In India, there are reports that the company might soon launch the Arte Black Edition.
As per the Amazon listing, one of the Nokia 6 global variants will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage variant. The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top for protection. Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. For photography, the smartphone packs a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options on the Nokia 6 include a fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB type C-port. Reports also suggest that the Nokia 6 is reportedly being updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Keeping in mind the same, we can expect the global version of the Nokia 6 to launch with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The update is said to bring improvements like power saving and background management features and support for dual-SIM dual-standby for 4G and 3G networks. It is also said to add an update for the phone s USB drivers, and for some of its pre-loaded apps.
