HMD Global, the home for new Nokia-branded smartphones, has started sending out media invites for an event in Russia on May 29. The event will be held in Moscow and will be hosted by HMD Global CEO Florian Seiche, CMO Pekka Rantala and CPO Juho Sarvikas. The invite does not reveal anything about the product HMD Global plans to introduce at the event. However, given the fact that company’s top executives will be in presence, there is a possibility that HMD Global will launch one or two smartphone as an addition to its already expansive smartphone lineup. According to Nokiamob.net, the invite for the event in Moscow has gained prominence from the fact that three Nokia-branded devices with model numbers TA-1075, TA-1105 and TA-1116 were recently certified by regulatory authority in Russia. Just few hours back, HMD Global launched the Nokia X6, its first smartphone with a notched display exclusively for the Chinese smartphone. A report states that Nokia X6 will be the first smartphone in company’s X series and will be exclusive to the Chinese market. The report goes on to add that HMD Global is planning two new models in the series named X5 and X7 which will be for the global market. There is a possibility that these smartphones will be launched by the company at the May 29 event in Russia.
Apart from the relaunch of Nokia X series, HMD Global is also said to be working on the 2018 version of Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 smartphones. HMD Global’s smartphone portfolio includes the Nokia 1, Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 plus, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco in the global market. In addition to these smartphones, the Finnish company is expected to add 2018 versions of Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 sometime this year.

HMD Global is also rumored to be working on a flagship smartphone called Nokia 9 which will incorporate Zeiss’ revolutionary penta-lens camera system. The Nokia 9 is said to use Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. HMD Global has not confirmed existence of any of these smartphones and it has also not detailed its product strategy for the later part of this year. There is a possibility that HMD Global will extend its existing product to the Russian market on May 29.
