HMD Global posts a 'Charged up' teaser for its Moscow launch event

HMD Global has already launched upgraded versions of its mid-range and premium lineup with the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 6.1.

HMD Global, the company responsible for bringing back Nokia-branded smartphones in the market posted a teaser for its upcoming launch event in Moscow on May 29th. The company took to its official Twitter handle to post the image inviting everyone to join the company “LIVE” for the launch event from Moscow. The caption of the image teases the upcoming smartphone by asking users to find out “What’s next in the #Nokiamobile story”. It went on to add that “it’s time to get #ChargedUp.”

The company has already launched upgraded versions of its mid-range and premium lineup of devices with the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 6.1. This likely hints at the upgraded versions of the Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. These devices were spotted on Russian regulatory websites hinting at an imminent launch. It is also likely that the company could be launching the global variant of its latest smartphone, the Nokia X6 that it launched in China earlier this month.

Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer for HMD Global also teased the launch event on his official Twitter account to build up the hype around the smartphone. However, nothing much is known about the upcoming smartphone. HMD Global has not issued any statement hinting at what smartphones that it will be launching at the Moscow event. It is likely that the company will launch the global variant of its Nokia X6 with a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display along with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core chipset depending on the market dependent. The “#ChargedUp” portion of the caption of the teaser hints that HMD Global could be focusing on the battery of its upcoming smartphone(s). This would likely mean a massive battery or support for fast charging technology.
