The company aims to launch close to a dozen phones this year, and it has already launched four smartphones by far. As for the upcoming event, some reports indicate that it could be the Nokia 7, while others indicate that it could be an upgraded version of the Nokia 8. A report on GizChina notes that a GIF posted on China’s TMALL page shows off the Bothie feature, which was introduced with the Nokia 8.
As per the report, the upgraded version of the flagship smartphone is likely to pack 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while retaining other features. Some speculations also include wireless charging support added to the Nokia 8 as the particular GIF says ‘qi’ which could possibly refer to the Qi wireless charging standard. Alternately, the word ‘qi’ refers to the number 7 in Chinese, which brings us back to the speculations around the Nokia 7 nearing its release. Reports in the past indicate that the Nokia 7 will be available in three variants – 3GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage, 4GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The flagship smartphone boasts a 5.3-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 Pix) IPS 2K resolution display with Corning s Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage under the hood. On the photography front, it features a dual-camera setup with a pair of 13-megapixel sensors at the back. Up front, there’s a 13-megapixel camera. It is priced at Rs 36,999.
