Right on cue, Huawei s sub-brand Honor has launched a new smartphone in China today. Called Honor 10, the smartphone comes with a similar design language as the Huawei P20 that was launched last month in Paris. Besides design, the smartphone also shares some of the P20 s specifications. Just like Huawei did with the Honor 9 Lite, this time around too, the company has emphasized a lot on the design and aesthetics. It features a curved glass design at the back with changing color coating, just like we have seen on the Huawei P20. Essentially, the back panel changes the color when you change the angle. The smartphone will be offered in two color variants Phantom Blue and Mirage Purple. Also Read - Honor phones to come with Google Mobile Services: Report

Honor 10 specifications and features
The smartphone flaunts a 5.84-inch full HD+ LCD display with a notch on top and 19:9 aspect ratio. The notch houses the front camera, sensors and earpiece, which allows Honor to have a good screen-to-body ratio. The chin below the display houses a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
At the heart of the smartphone runs Huawei s Kirin 970 octa-core SoC which comes with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), along with advanced AI capabilities (AI 2.0). It can process Prisma-like image effects two times faster than the iPhone X, the company said. The AI has also been implemented in cameras where it can detect landscape, portrait, scene and subject to allow you to clock better photos.
The chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM and with 64GB or 128GB storage, depending on the variant you choose. In the photography department, you get dual cameras at the back, which includes a 24-megapixel primary sensor along with a 16-megapixel secondary sensor. It allows for DLSR-like bokeh effects, and iPhone X-like 3D portrait lighting effects to intelligently fill light on the face depending on the lighting conditions. Up front, is a 24-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. It also supports face unlock feature.
Armed with a 3,400mAh battery with fast charging support, the smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo update with EMUI 8.1 skin on top. And while the Huawei P20 ditches the 3.5mm audio jack, the Honor 10 retains it. It also includes support for 7.1 multi-channel Hi-Fi sound.
