Honor 10, the next flagship smartphone from Huawei’s e-brand, will be launched on April 19. The Chinese smartphone brand has sent official invites for an event in China where the flagship will go official with some of the features seen on the company’s flagship P20 series. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has also already appeared in the form of promo images, which reveals key specifications. The most important change is expected to be in the design department with the Honor 10 getting the same twilight signature color similar to the P20 Pro. In theory, the Honor 10 will look similar to Huawei’s P20 series with same or a variation of that twilight color paint job. In terms of specifications, the Honor 10 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch display and will become the first Honor-branded smartphone to embrace the notch. It is expected to be powered by Huawei’s flagship HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset coupled with neural processing unit for handling AI-related applications. On the camera front, it is said to feature a combination of 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel image sensors similar to the P20.
The Honor 10 will miss out on the cool Leica branding and the monochrome effect offered by the dedicated 20-megapixel sensor. There will be a lot of emphasis on AI camera features including ability to recognize over 100 different objects. All other features will be revealed in the form of leaks in the coming days and Honor itself will detail complete set of features on April 19.
Soon after the launch of Honor 10 in China, Honor will also introduce a pro version of the smartphone called Honor 10 Pro at an event in London on May 15, if reports are to be believed. The Honor 10 Pro is widely rumored to feature a triple-camera setup, as seen on Huawei P20 Pro.

Huawei is currently the third-largest smartphone maker globally and the leader in its home market, China. It is known for bringing features seen on company’s premium smartphones to mid-range devices with Honor branding, which contributes the bulk in terms of shipments and revenue. With the Honor 10 and Honor 10 Pro, Huawei will let users to experience the camera features of its P20 and P20 Pro smartphones without necessarily breaking the bank.
