Honor has announced its flagship smartphone, the Honor 10, at an event in London yesterday. Successor to the Honor View 10, the smartphone brings some key improvements in design, specifications and features department. The Honor 10 will be competing against the likes of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Nokia 7 Plus. OnePlus 6 will also be the Honor 10 competitor, and it is set to go official later today. We compared the Honor 10 with Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Nokia 7 Plus based on their price, specifications and features, and here’s how they fare.
Price in India and availability
The Honor 10 is priced at Rs 32,999 and has gone on pre-order exclusively via Flipkart. It will start shipping starting May 23. The Mi MIX 2 is priced at Rs 27,999 after the recent price cut, and will be available via Flipkart and Mi.com/in. The Nokia 7 Plus, on the other hand, will set you back by Rs 25,999 and can be purchased from Amazon India.
The Honor 10 features a 5.84-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, and a taller aspect ratio of 19:9. You also get a notch on the top, just like on the iPhone X, Huawei P20 Pro and a handful of other smartphones. The Mi MIX 2 features a 5.99-inch display running at a resolution of 1,080 x 2,160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9, whereas the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 6-inch full HD+ display, and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Chipset, RAM and storage
Under the hood, Honor 10 is powered by Huawei’s flagship Kirin 970 SoC coupled with Mali GPU and dedicated neural processing unit (NPU). The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset. 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage using a microSD card.
In the photography department, the Honor 10 features a dual-rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel color sensor of f/1.8 aperture and a 24-megapixel monochrome sensor to help in low-light scenarios. Up front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calling. Both cameras are AI-powered with beauty mode and object recognition.
The Nokia 7 Plus also features a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, and a 13-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens for 2X optical zoom and adding DSLR like bokeh effects to your photos. Up front, it comes with a 16-megapixel sensor. The Mi MIX 2, on the other hand, sports a simple 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Battery and Connectivity
The Mi MIX 2 and Honor 10 are both armed with a 3,400mAh battery with fast charging feature, whereas the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a slightly larger 3,800mAh battery. All smartphones feature connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G LTE with VoLTE voice calling and dual SIM card slots.
OS and security
While the Nokia 7 Plus and Honor 10 run Android 8.1 Oreo, the Mi MIX 2 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and an update with Android Oreo is expected to rollout soon. In terms of security, Nokia and Xiaomi phones have a fingerprint sensor at the back, whereas the Honor 10 comes with an ultrasonic fingerprint on the front, sitting right below the display. It also comes with Face Unlock feature.
