The Honor 6X smartphone was launched in China back in October this year, and it is likely to arrive in India today. The Honor 6X, as the name suggests, is the successor to the Honor 5X that launched in India earlier this year. While the upcoming smartphone retains much of the metal unibody design, the USP of the smartphone is its dual-camera setup at the back. This includes a 12-megapixel auto-focus snapper with PDAF support and a secondary 2-megapixel snapper for achieving depth of field and DSLR-like bokeh effect. Honor 6X specifications
The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top, and it is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core processor paired with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. In China, the smartphone is available in three variants — 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM, 32GB variant with 4GB of RAM, and a 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM. It will be interesting to see which variant the company launches in India.
The Honor 6X also features a microSD card slot, a fingerprint sensor at the back that is fast enough to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds, and a 3,340mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. In comparison, the Honor 5X was launched earlier this year with features like 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB storage that can be expanded using a microSD card. The smartphone also came with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a fingerprint scanner, and 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Honor 6X prices
The 32GB (3GB RAM) Honor 6X is priced in China at RMB 999 (Rs 9,700 approximately), while the 4GB RAM variant is priced at RMB 1,299 (Rs 12,700 approximately). The 64GB (4GB RAM) variant, on the other hand, is priced at RMB 1,599 (Rs 15,600 approximately). If launched in India, the base variant will face competition from the likes of the Lenovo K6 Power and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to name a few.
