Huawei-backed Honor launched the 6X smartphone last week in India. The highlight of the smartphone is the dual camera setup on the rear, and also the fact that it falls under the affordable category, joining the Coolpad Cool 1 Dual. The Honor 6X was launched in two variants in terms of RAM and storage as well. The Honor 6X with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs 12,999, while the higher variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 15,999. The Honor 6X is an Amazon India exclusive device, and it will go on its first sale today at 2:00PM. Only one variant of the Honor 6X will go on sale today, which is the one with 3GB RAM. Since this is not an open sale, one would have to register for it, which had kicked off since its launch. For those who miss out today, they can start registering for the next one which is scheduled to take place on February 9 at 2:00PM. Amazon India has a few deals lined up for those who will purchase the Honor 6X today. To begin with, SBI credit card holders will receive an additional cashback of 10 percent. Airtel customers will get 14GB of free data on select recharges made on their Honor 6X smartphone. There is an offer on the Kindle app as well, which is an 80 percent off on eBooks (maximum Rs 300).
Honor 6X specifications
The Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080p) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top. At the core of the smartphone runs the company s own HiSilicon Kirin 655 octa-core SoC (eight Cortex A53 cores) paired with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. The Honor 6X comes with the option to further expand the storage up to 128GB via a microSD card.
Coming to the highlight, the smartphone features a dual-camera setup at the back, which is a pair of 12-megapixel lens with PDAF for clicking photos and a secondary 2-megapixel snapper for capturing depth information. The functionality of the camera is similar to HTC s One M8, which lets you add DSLR-like bokeh effect, and refocus on the subject even after clicking the photos. Up front, the Honor 6X sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calling. The selfie camera is equipped with an on-screen flash mode for capturing better selfies in low-light conditions.
For power, the Honor 6X uses a 3,340mAh battery which is equipped with fast charging support. The connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM card support (hybrid setup), 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0-based EMUI 4.1 skin on top.
